My work involves my overwhelming love of nostalgia. I spent every summer with my grandparents in my hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. They lived a simple life. The only time I ventured outside of that house was to do three things: go to the laundromat, the flea market, or the grocery store. That was my world. I learned to appreciate the secondhand products that circulated through generations. Things were "new" to me, and that's all that mattered; I was happy. I made the best out of what was available to me. Throughout my years and to this day, I channel that same feeling of joy. My work displays that sense of happiness. Although life evolves and things never stay where they were, I loosely combine the past and present.

Just like a flea market, you'll see a little bit of everything.
